Great...except for...
I agree with most of the other reviews. This moisturizer does help my skin, but I can't apply my foundation afterwards because it sort of balls up or gets gummy on my face. It doesn't matter how much or how little moisturizer is applied on my face or what brand of make-up is applied. So I use this moisturizer at night and on weekends when I don't wear any make-up.

Lovely Moisturizer
I got a small jar of this when I bought the medical bag with smaller sizes of different products. I loved it. It is so light and fresh and a perfect topping to any other face treatment. I thought from its name that it was just a plain moisturizer and it doesn't make big claims like so many other Perricone products. I was impressed though to see it contained Alpha Lipoic Acid and DMEA. I use the eye cream with Lipoic Acid and take it in pill form along with DMEA. I've had great results with the eye cream and supplements. So this little moistuizer has science behind it also. Although he's built an empire on expensive skin care routines I believe Dr. Perricone really believes in what he's doing. He does put himself out there. Well, what I thought was a humble moisturizer also includes cutting edge ingredients (I know there's some controversy over Perricone but brilliant new ideas are often greeted with naysayers). This is not one of his more expensive products and you don't need to use a lot to get, as the name implies, a very nice finish to the skin. It has a perfect texture and and a delicate rose scent. It delivers just the right amount of moisture. You're not laying out $570 for the neuropeptide lotion which may, of course, be worth it. Time will have to tell with that one. But for $50 I can't imagine anyone not liking this moisturizer.

Noticeable difference after only 1 use!
I LOVE, repeat LOVE this moisturizer. I had noticed my skin breaking out more and more often and being 40 just did not think this should be, especially as I have never been prone to breaking out, even as a teen.Since I had been using the same line of skin care product for 20 years, I decided that my 40 year old skin was not the same as my 20 year old skin and that I needed to make a change.I bought the Perricone pore cleanser and this day cream and I noticed a HUGE difference in the overall appearance of my skin after just one use.After three days, the only thing left of my rashy breakout areas was a little patchy dry skin and now after five days my skin is as smooth and clear as a baby's bottom! I do not think I will ever buy from another skin care line.These products are awesome!

A MUST-HAVE FOR DISCIPLES OF DR. PERRICONE

The number of products offered by the acclaimed Dr. N. V. Perricone has increased dramatically since he first came to my attention, perhaps three years ago.At times, in any line, a plethora of offerings can be confusing.From what I've experienced,, this is a must-have for those who use his products.

The word "disciples" was deliberately chosen for this review because I think one should stick to the same line of products when it comes to skin care.Changing around is fine when it comes to color, but I've yet to be convinced that changing skin care routines from month to benefits skin.Regrettably, I've yet to follow my own good advice.I do wander off, more frequently than anyone should, but eventually return to this Amine Complex Face Lift.

It's a very light weight product that comes in the traditional Perricone bottle with a pump.
The 2 oz. bottle lasts me almost 3 months as it takes very little to spread over the face and neck area.One mistake I did make early on was not to follow instructions exactly and did not begin at the hairline then down to the face and behind the ears.It does make a difference when you read the enclosed literature first!

Advanced Techniques to Get the Most Out of Clarifying Lotion
(Note: This version is the tiny travel size. The size of it fits in the palm part of your hand and is the version most often included with Clinique's Gift With Purchases.)

Flakiness be banished! More than just a toner, which only gives a refreshed feeling to the face, Clarifying Lotion provides a mild amount of exfoliation to the skin. Used twice a day after cleansing and before moisturizer, C.L. gently removes the old, dead, top layer of face skin that our body discards each day and helps reveal the fresher, newer skin underneath. As a bonus, C.L. also removes the dull, dead flakes that don't stand up on their own but make the skin look dull and lifeless. When this dull layer is removed, moisturizer (or any other face treatment product) applied afterward is better able to penetrate the skin and its effectiveness is increased. Liquid foundation applied afterwards will not grab as much on the dull, flakey parts and make you look cakey but will glide on more smoothly. I find I need even less foundation because my dead flakes aren't sucking it all up! Complexion is more radiant, skin has a soft, healthy glow.

Use Clarifying Lotion twice daily after cleansing and before moisturizer. Place on a 100% cotton ball or pad (100% cotton is less abrasive than synthetics) and sweep one time over the skin covering each part of the face and neck once but avoiding the immediate eye and lip areas. No need to scrub back and forth with your cotton ball; let the Clarifying lotion do all the work. Clarifying Lotions 2-4 will all provide a strong tingle to the face when applied. This is normal and is the effect of the skin being exfoliated. With regular, twice a day use, the sensation diminishes as the skin gets used to the feeling.

Clarifying Lotion comes in two sizes, 6.7 oz & 13.5 oz, and four main types plus one specialty type:

Clarifying Lotion 2 is Clinique's most popular Clarifying Lotion. It is recommended for Skin Type I (dry skin), Skin Type II (normal/combination skin), and some Skin Type III's (oily T-zone with normal cheeks) who experience burning when first exposed to the sun (an indicator of skin strength).

Clarifying Lotion 3 provides an increased level of exfoliation from CL2 and is recommended for Skin Type III (oily T-zone with normal cheeks) whose skin tans more easily (an indicator of skin strength) and Skin Type IV (oily T-zone and cheeks/oily all over) whose skin tends to burn easily in the sun. This Clarifying Lotion is also recommended for long time users of Clarifying Lotion 2 who would like to receive increased results from the increased exfoliation provided and whose skin has been significantly strengthened through long term use of CL2. Upgrading will increase all the positive results of smoother, softer, more healthy looking skin. Woman with normal skin types might choose to use Clarifying Lotion 1 on days they are suffering from a sunburn or on the same day they've visited the dermatologist and had a treatment such as dermabrasion or an acid peel. For most women and most skin types, skip this one as it is not for daily use.

Clarifying Lotion Mild is a specialty Clarifying Lotion for users who have a recommendation from a dermatologist not to use alcohol on the face, or need an especially lower level of exfoliation, or who have had trouble in the past using Clarifying Lotion 2. It is used and applied the same way as the other four but has a more viscous feel. It is considered `buffered' exfoliation.

All of Clinique's Clarifying Lotions are wonderful products and I have used nearly all of them over the span of many years. I started out on Clarifying Lotion 2 and then using the methods described above, very slooooowly upgraded myself to 3 and then very, very slooooowly on to 4. I have great skin (I'm always being told) but it's only great because I'm consistent with this product. Sometimes all those compliments would go to my head and I'd stop using Clarifying Lotion because I thought I `didn't need it.'
