The dark circles, puffiness and fines lines are gone
I picked up Lift and Lighten when on vacation at a little boutique store. As with many products, I figured I probably just put $36 down the drain. But what the heck, I was on vacation and wanted to pamper myself. Well, I'm glad I did. Lift and lighten worked wonders on my tired eyes. I'm 37 and was looking every bit my age and then some. I put it on twice a day. Once in the morning and once before bed. I hope these MD skincare products are around a long time. I'm going to try the facial peel next.

I just wish it wasn't so expensive!
I received about 100 tiny bottles of this from a neighbor...thought it was worth a shot. I'm 27 and have had problems with breakouts since I was a young teenager. Idealist made my skin baby soft, reduced the number of breakouts much better than Clearasil or any other anti-acne treatment did, and also evened out my complexion...I has less blotchiness. I absolutely love this stuff! But alas, I used up all the little bottles and I just can't seem to get myself to pay $40 or more for it...even as much as it worked. Advanced Techniques to Get the Most Out of Clarifying Lotion
Flakiness be banished! More than just a toner, which only gives a refreshed feeling to the face, Clarifying Lotion provides a mild amount of exfoliation to the skin. Used twice a day after cleansing and before moisturizer, C.L. gently removes the old, dead, top layer of face skin that our body discards each day and helps reveal the fresher, newer skin underneath. As a bonus, C.L. also removes the dull, dead flakes that don't stand up on their own but make the skin look dull and lifeless. When this dull layer is removed, moisturizer (or any other face treatment product) applied afterward is better able to penetrate the skin and its effectiveness is increased. Liquid foundation applied afterwards will not grab as much on the dull, flakey parts and make you look cakey but will glide on more smoothly. I find I need even less foundation because my dead flakes aren't sucking it all up! Complexion is more radiant, skin has a soft, healthy glow.

Use Clarifying Lotion twice daily after cleansing and before moisturizer. Place on a 100% cotton ball or pad (100% cotton is less abrasive than synthetics) and sweep one time over the skin covering each part of the face and neck once but avoiding the immediate eye and lip areas. No need to scrub back and forth with your cotton ball; let the Clarifying lotion do all the work. Clarifying Lotions 2-4 will all provide a strong tingle to the face when applied. This is normal and is the effect of the skin being exfoliated. With regular, twice a day use, the sensation diminishes as the skin gets used to the feeling.

Clarifying Lotion comes in two sizes, 6.7 oz & 13.5 oz, and four main types plus one specialty type:

Clarifying Lotion 2 is Clinique's most popular Clarifying Lotion. It is recommended for Skin Type I (dry skin), Skin Type II (normal/combination skin), and some Skin Type III's (oily T-zone with normal cheeks) who experience burning when first exposed to the sun (an indicator of skin strength).

Clarifying Lotion 3 provides an increased level of exfoliation from CL2 and is recommended for Skin Type III (oily T-zone with normal cheeks) whose skin tans more easily (an indicator of skin strength) and Skin Type IV (oily T-zone and cheeks/oily all over) whose skin tends to burn easily in the sun. Clarifying Lotion 1 is closest to a traditional toner as it doesn't not provide any exfoliation. It is recommended only for those individuals who have been advised by a doctor not to exfoliate their skin at all (this is a rare instance.) Woman with normal skin types might choose to use Clarifying Lotion 1 on days they are suffering from a sunburn or on the same day they've visited the dermatologist and had a treatment such as dermabrasion or an acid peel. For most women and most skin types, skip this one as it is not for daily use.

Clarifying Lotion Mild is a specialty Clarifying Lotion for users who have a recommendation from a dermatologist not to use alcohol on the face, or need an especially lower level of exfoliation, or who have had trouble in the past using Clarifying Lotion 2. It is used and applied the same way as the other four but has a more viscous feel. It is considered `buffered' exfoliation.

All of Clinique's Clarifying Lotions are wonderful products and I have used nearly all of them over the span of many years. I started out on Clarifying Lotion 2 and then using the methods described above, very slooooowly upgraded myself to 3 and then very, very slooooowly on to 4. I have great skin (I'm always being told) but it's only great because I'm consistent with this product. Sometimes all those compliments would go to my head and I'd stop using Clarifying Lotion because I thought I `didn't need it.' not worth the money
I've pretty much given up on this after a few weeks.It seemed to be irritating to my eyes and skin and produced few results.So I decided I'm probably happier not using it.It just confirmed my belief that none of this over the counter stuff works very well.Use prescripion skin medications (Renova etc.) if you want creams that produce some results.If I must say something positive: umm ... umm .. Perricone's diet plan isn't too bad ;).

Great Science
After reading up on Alpha Lipoic Acid I had to give this eye therapy a try. I think there's good research behind the use of this super anti-oxidant and I even take it in pill form. I am 47 and have barely a hint of lines around my eyes (I always wear sunglasses when there's sun) and this together with Dr. Perricone's Ester C eye treatment sent them into retreat after only a few uses.I've tried vitamin C alone and it didn't work as well at smoothing and just making the eyes look more well rested. My eye area even feels firmer. I also like the way this absorbs into the skin. Some other eye creams either have to be rubbed in (which you want to avoid around the eye area) or are too slick. I switched from Cellex C treatment and eye balm to this combo. I'm convinced the addition of ALA leaves the skin around the eye in better shape. It also enhances the effects of Vitaman C and E.

I found a tester of this cream in a bag of goodies I purchased somewhere and tried it out recently.I'm 33 years old and have had some semblance of crows feet for the last 8 years. I've tried absolutely everything to treat them - from the expensive (La Mer, Chanel, Christian Dior, Sisley, La Prairie) to drugstore creams, but nothing has really been much of a help to me.
