Try it once and use it forever
If you're searching for the best face wash for men, look no further. I've used higher end facial cleansers since high school (i.e. Neutrogena and Clinique for Men), but none can compare to the complete clean feeling you get from Zirh's Clean. With a nickel-sized dollop in your hands or washcloth, you will get a unique and deep penetrating subtle lather that rinses away far more cleanly than other products (for men or otherwise).

A friend of mine who is now hooked on the product after I introduced it to him, describes the feeling after using the product on his face as "whole." Sounds bizarre, I'm sure, but if you imagine your face as smooth, without irritation, residue-free and supple instead of taut, you'll understand exactly what he means.

When this product was first introduced in the 90s, it was even advertised as doubling as a shaving gel. In a pinch, it will serve that purpose superbly. The thick, slightly opaque nature of the product sits below stubble at skin level to give you a close shave. Because Zirh has since come out with it's Shave Cream and Shave Gel products, the company no longer makes that claim for Clean, while it certainly could.

The only reservation I have about Clean is the fact that it, like most other Zirh products, has seen a recent price increase. Perhaps the company has capitalized on the recent popularity the line has enjoyed as a result of being recommended in various news and entertainment media. For Clean, it was about a 15% increase in price. Trust me, the product is worth every penny, but I've also noticed that some canisters of Clean that I've purchased lately haven't been brimming to the cap with product as I had noticed earlier. Hopefully this has been a fluke.

This is Great Stuff!It feels good, it smells good, it works!Using only once a day, my skin is smoother and tighter, my laugh lines are much less pronounced, and my skin tone is much more even.It doesn't leave my skin thin and paper-y around the eyes like many women's products do.I do wash above and immediately below my eyes with this product without any adverse effects on my contacts.It is worth every penny.The only downside is the packaging doesn't allow for much control when pouring the product into your hand, so you have to be careful not to get more than you need. You have to treat eyes differently...
...we all know they wrinkle quicker then the rest of our faces, and it is not just the cream or lotion or potion we use; oh no.
It is about how it is apllied too, the lightest touch from the inside out to the end the eye, making sure you stroke upwards as you do so, so as not to strech the skin or increase the creases!
This product takes the worry away, it works, it works quickly and it almost puts itself on. It's so light and mouse like it is not possible to aplly it incorrectly.
If your eyes are a troubled area and you don't want to consider the surgeon's knife, then this is for you.

Great value that works
I really like this eye cream, which is thicker than many I have tried.So a little goes a long way.But it smooths on very nicely and though I haven't noticed a huge difference in the lines under my eyes, I definitely notice the area under my eyes is much better moisturized and the texture has smoothed out.The price is great too and I would definitely order again.

Advanced Techniques to Get the Most Out of Clarifying Lotion
Flakiness be banished! More than just a toner, which only gives a refreshed feeling to the face, Clarifying Lotion provides a mild amount of exfoliation to the skin. Used twice a day after cleansing and before moisturizer, C.L. gently removes the old, dead, top layer of face skin that our body discards each day and helps reveal the fresher, newer skin underneath. As a bonus, C.L. also removes the dull, dead flakes that don't stand up on their own but make the skin look dull and lifeless. When this dull layer is removed, moisturizer (or any other face treatment product) applied afterward is better able to penetrate the skin and its effectiveness is increased. Liquid foundation applied afterwards will not grab as much on the dull, flakey parts and make you look cakey but will glide on more smoothly. I find I need even less foundation because my dead flakes aren't sucking it all up! Complexion is more radiant, skin has a soft, healthy glow.

Use Clarifying Lotion twice daily after cleansing and before moisturizer. Place on a 100% cotton ball or pad (100% cotton is less abrasive than synthetics) and sweep one time over the skin covering each part of the face and neck once but avoiding the immediate eye and lip areas. No need to scrub back and forth with your cotton ball; let the Clarifying lotion do all the work. Clarifying Lotions 2-4 will all provide a strong tingle to the face when applied. This is normal and is the effect of the skin being exfoliated. With regular, twice a day use, the sensation diminishes as the skin gets used to the feeling.

Clarifying Lotion comes in two sizes, 6.7 oz & 13.5 oz, and four main types plus one specialty type:

Clarifying Lotion 2 is Clinique's most popular Clarifying Lotion. It is recommended for Skin Type I (dry skin), Skin Type II (normal/combination skin), and some Skin Type III's (oily T-zone with normal cheeks) who experience burning when first exposed to the sun (an indicator of skin strength).

Clarifying Lotion 3 provides an increased level of exfoliation from CL2 and is recommended for Skin Type III (oily T-zone with normal cheeks) whose skin tans more easily (an indicator of skin strength) and Skin Type IV (oily T-zone and cheeks/oily all over) whose skin tends to burn easily in the sun. Clarifying Lotion 1 is closest to a traditional toner as it doesn't not provide any exfoliation. It is recommended only for those individuals who have been advised by a doctor not to exfoliate their skin at all (this is a rare instance.) Woman with normal skin types might choose to use Clarifying Lotion 1 on days they are suffering from a sunburn or on the same day they've visited the dermatologist and had a treatment such as dermabrasion or an acid peel. For most women and most skin types, skip this one as it is not for daily use.

Clarifying Lotion Mild is a specialty Clarifying Lotion for users who have a recommendation from a dermatologist not to use alcohol on the face, or need an especially lower level of exfoliation, or who have had trouble in the past using Clarifying Lotion 2. It is used and applied the same way as the other four but has a more viscous feel. It is considered `buffered' exfoliation.

All of Clinique's Clarifying Lotions are wonderful products and I have used nearly all of them over the span of many years. I started out on Clarifying Lotion 2 and then using the methods described above, very slooooowly upgraded myself to 3 and then very, very slooooowly on to 4. I have great skin (I'm always being told) but it's only great because I'm consistent with this product. Sometimes all those compliments would go to my head and I'd stop using Clarifying Lotion because I thought I `didn't need it.' Brilliant stuff.
You can almost feel it really going to town on cleaning your skin and getting shot of that deep seated muck!

I LOVE this stuff!
It may seem expensive, but it's well worth it.After just TWO days of washing my face with this, I see a very noticable difference.My skin is clearing up and the ever-present chin pimples (ugh) are going away!

Invest in a couple of these.The smell takes a little getting used to, (don't be tempted to toss it), but the effects are little less than magic!

Does the job
I recieved a couple different soap bars after ordering some DREAM CREAM, and gave this a spin.I did 2 tests: makeup removal and afterworkout cleansing.

I'm a makeup artist, and don't wear a lot of makeup, but I'm in the middle of doing test shots for a short film.After applying large amounts of cake makeup to myself, I took COALFACE and washed.I never had to wash my face twice - this did the job well enough and will continue to buy these scraps for my makeup kit to give to the actors after shooting.It feels the same even after a long run: your skin has been toned and firmed, plus it's clean and smells better than some of LUSH's other facial products.Easiest little piece of glycerin I've ever laid my hands on.

Good for the job
I'm an exfoliant junkie; I've become addicted to the sensation of dead skin being sloughed away.I got a sample of coalface with my last order, and I was excited to try this new style of exfoliant.Now, I should note that, as an exfoliant afficionado, I have skin that is used to a little scrubbing.Coalface was not for me.

I felt the rough charcoal granules and some ingredient that burned my skin, my skin tingled and burned, and I was only able to exfoliate bits of my face due to the hard edges of the bar, which didn't align with my facial curves.After rinsing, my face felt sore and dry, and I had a breakout the next day.

My friend uses Coalface religiously, and it cleared up her skin and keeps it glowing and nice without the need for toner or prescription treatments.

So my conclusion is that this works for some people, but not for others.If you have regular acne, this is probably a great product for you.If you just need an exfoliant, try Angels on Bare Skin (or Ocean Salt if you want to splurge). ... Read more
