I bought this for two reasons, one being i love philosophy products and two (the main reason)i love sting. This isa redesigned bottle, proceeds go to the rainforest.also, this hasa clean crisp scent and it isn't strong at all.

I like this as a bubble bath...it foams up nicely and it has such a nice, clean scent that's not too perfumey.What makes me nervous is that there's a warning on the back saying not to use excessive amounts because it will irritate your skin.It's packaging is quite clever and it makes a really nice gift. ... Mixed feelings
I have mixed feelings about the Philosophy Vanilla Ice Cream.After falling head over heels for other Philosophy scents such as Double Rich Hot Cocoa, Cinnamon Buns, and Cafe Au Lait, I thought, "If anyone can make a dreamily decadent, angelic vanilla, it's Philosophy."

When I lathered up my pouf, I was stunned at the delicate, subtle vanilla scent that wafted towards me.It wasn't at all what I had expected.Because of this distraction, I failed to sufficiently warm up the pouf, so the cold chill of the body wash made my mind drift to thoughts of what it would be like to lather up with real ice cream.

Since I happened to have a tub of Dreyers vanilla ice cream in the freezer, I decided to compare it and went to find out what ice cream actually smells like.(Before this, it had never occured to me to sniff my ice cream.)Surprisingly, the Dreyers smelled exactly like the Philosophy Vanilla Ice Cream...

So considering that Philosophy classifies this product as smelling like vanilla ice cream, I can't really fault them for that.But because of the disappointment that it doesn't smell like the sort of vanilla I was imagining, I'm subtracting a star. ... Read more

Cafe Au Lait always!
I received this as a gift for Christmas of 2004, it was the best gift ever! I love it as a shampoo it makes my hair feel extremely clean and it smells great all day long. I recommend it highly!!! Love the scent lasts a good long time and I get lots of comments about how good it smells.

THE BEST SCENT YET!!!
I just love this shampoo/body wash...I have MANY of the other scents from Philosophy and this is by far my favorite.What a way to wake up in the morning -- it smells so good you could drink it!

Disappointed
I really expected a lot for such an expensive product. Maybe if I liked a lot of sugar in my coffee I would have liked this, but them smell was so sickly sweet that I can hardly stand to use it. I usually love the Philosophy brand bath and shower gels, but this was a major disappointment-didn't smell anything like pound cake or lavender for that matter-in fact the odor is quite strong and nauseating. There are other gels that are great but AVOID this one! Phew!!! ... Read more

Good, but not Great
This product does not smell like a Berry Pie.It smells more like "Chocolate Raspberry" in my opinion.The scent in the bottle is fairly "plastic-y", but becomes less so out of the bottle.It is pleasant, but nothing to write home about.With the new "Mimosa", "Vanilla Cupcake", "Lavender Pound Cake", and "Crumb Berry Pie", I'm seriously wondering if Philosophy smells their own products.These new additions are in no way, shape or form worth the price for the product...and they absolutely do not smell like their namesakes.Product-wise, this one does make for a very good body-wash and shampoo.Philosophy seems to be labeling their new products as "shampoo, shower gel, and bubble bath" instead of their old "shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel".The product does not create a good bubble bath...unless, of course, you'd like to waste half the bottle.I, however, am glad to see the removal of the "conditioner" part as their 3-in-1's absolutely do NOT moisturize hair.Whenever used as a shampoo, a separate conditioner is almost essential.My ultimate recommendation is that you skip this one and go for the "Cinnamon Buns", "Pumpkin Pie", "Spiced Apple Cider", "Egg Nog", "Señorita Margarita" or "Double Rich Hot Cocoa" variations.Those scents are worth the price. ... YUMMY!!!!!
I love the smell of this stuff, although I would not say it smells like hot choclate.It smells more like choclate cake batter, which is not a bad thing.It reminds me of my mom baking when I was a little girl.The only problem I have with taking wonderful choclate cake batter showers is that it makes me hungry.The shower gel is very conditioning.I don't use extra conditioner on my hair because it is not very dry, yet I do have to on my skin because it is really dry.

This is exactly like an inviting,extra-rich hot chocolate...mmmm!
Cleanses hair and body very well, but I think you really need a rinse and repeat. An extra conditioner is definitely needed, and
extra luxury is following it with the melted marshmallow body mousse. I received this in the holiday rescue kit and if you want
the ultimate holiday treat, this is it!

Unbelievable!
I received a free sample of the hot cocoa. It was fabulous! My shower smelled like chocolate. It was rich and lathering! After my shower the scent of chocolate still lingered in my hair until it was completely dry! It was so yummy! I have been using the spiced apple cider shampoo and body wash but I love the hot cocoa so much more!

I do wish that the Philosophy bath washes did a better job of conditioning your hair. I usually need to use an extra conditioner with the product! But the yummy smells of the Philosophy products is worth it! ... Read more

Thought it would be Vanilla Heaven
I love these products...for what it is, I use it as a shower gel and the lather is great, doesn't dry me out.But I was excited for a Vanilla Cupcake sented experience... I was dissapointed.I would recommend the other products, the fruity ones, ice cream ones, Key Lime pie for sure..I would not buy this again for the smell.

Somewhat disappointed
I was so intrigued by being able to shower and come out smelling like a cupcake, but was disappointed.Don't get me wrong, this does smell good and feels soft going on your skin.However, the scent is nothing like a cupcake, more like a cheap vanilla.

I'd recommend trying another scent or buy a cheaper vanilla if that's what you're going for.

Sephora is great as always with prompt shipping and nice packaging.

Pick another "flavor"...
Let me start by saying that the product works as well as Philosophy's other products.However, I have nearly all of the Philosophy 3-in-1's and I keep hoping that they will get a "vanilla" one right.This "flavor" is even worse than their "Vanilla Ice Cream" in the sense that it barely has a fragrance at all.Whereas "Vanilla Ice Cream" smells (strongly) like the plastic used in shower curtains, this one smells pretty much like the base used in all of Philosophy's 3-in-1's.I certainly do not detect a bit of the "Vanilla Cupcake" fragrance they claim the product should have.What I do detect as a slight fragrance vanishes immediately after the product leaves the bottle.I must say that I am not impressed with Philosophy's new 3-in-1's at this point.The "Vanilla Cupcake" stinks and the "Mimosa" smells like Pina Colada to me.If you want a good Philosophy 3-in-1, get the "Cinnamon Buns", "Pumpkin Pie", "Eggnog", "Spiced Apple Cider", or "Double Rich Hot Cocoa" variations.And always remember that if you use these products as a shampoo, you will need to use a good conditioner afterwards. ...
